Has anyone used a hotsling?
I’m considering getting a sling baby carrier for my daughter. Has anyone used a hotsling pouch/carrier? (http://www.hotslings.com/) Was it comfortable? How did you like it? What slings would you recommend (or NOT recommend)?
I love my hotsling, I have 2! http://thebabywearer.com is a great resource for baby carriers. I have 2 hotslings, a mei tei, a moby wrap, and a ring sling. I love all of them and use them often. The moby wrap was really useful when my son was a newborn, but it is a bit complicated to figure out at first. Now that he is 6 months I find myself using the hotslings and ring sling more often for hip hold, and they are the easiest to nurse in. And the mei tei is wonderful when he is tired and falls asleep, he will comfortably sleep in in. I would advise against the Baby Bjorn because of the way it is designed it puts too much pressure in between babies legs and it can also mess up his spine, most chiropractors advise against them. Hotslings baby carriers – ok to have them “tucked up”?
I have one of those hotslings baby carriers and my son (4 months) sits upward, facing outwards. The problem is that they show you to cross their legs (indian style) and put them in the sling…his feet touch his stomach and he’s curled into the fetal position. He loves it, and is comfortable because it’s the only way I can get him to sleep but it just seems like the legs being “tucked up” would be detrimental to his development. Anyone know?
This is _preferable_, to have them curled up froggy-style in the sling when they’re little.
Think of how he was in the womb….
